Le Mont Dore is the ski resort town in the shadow of the Massif Du Sancy which is part of the Massif Central which is in the area of France called the Puy De Dome that has over 80 volcano's and is home to the European volcanic research and Volvic mineral water.

The Puy De Dome is part of the region of the Auvergne and is inside the countries largest national park ( Park Des Volcans d'Auvergne ) which is in central France four hours from Paris, two and a half hours from Lyon and only two hours from Limoges.

You can take flights from UK airports with Flybe, Easyjet and Ryanair to Lyon or Limoges, or fly to Paris change then fly on to Clermont Ferrand, Puy De Dome's main city which is only 24 miles from Le Mont Dore, this is possible when you fly with British Airways or AirFrance.

Go by rail on the Eurostar to Paris then take regular trains to Clermont Ferrand and from there trains direct to Le Mont Dore. In the peak of the season you can go direct from Paris to Mont Dore.

Drive use the Euro tunnel in Folkstone which takes you to Calais in 30 minutes then drive six hours on some of the easiest auto-routes in France.

Or take the car ferry to Calais, Boulogne, St Malo, Le Havre or Caen from a number of UK ferry ports.
